Our Story

In 2021 my family started fostering kids. At a family visit at the pool, I noticed that most of the older kids could not swim. I asked why? We discussed about access to swim class and water safety. My parents explained about the privilege of knowing how to swim; access to adults who can bring you to lessons, money to pay for those lessons, and safe and accessible pools.

As a swimmer and water polo player, I realize the fun of knowing how to swim and hadn’t fully noticed that it was a privilege. I immediately asked if there was a way for me to help. Then the idea of the Orange County Swim Crew was created.

Everyone deserves to enjoy safe fun in the pool!
